Why Indigenous Wellness Matters
Indigenous wellness practices go far beyond individual self-care—they are part of a larger vision to decolonize wellness and reconnect with the ancestral ways of being well. These practices honour the interconnectedness of mind, body, spirit, and community, drawing on traditional teachings, ceremony, land-based learning, and storytelling. By returning to these ways of knowing, Indigenous wellness not only heals individuals but also strengthens communities, nurtures cultural identity, and restores balance with the land and each other.
